TiC is a kind of grey coating with higher microhardness. Meanwhile the adhereance power between the coating and surface of the substrates is great, so the wear resistance of the products after being coated with TiC is bitter. It can enhance the wear resistance of the moulds. Besides, uitlizing its excellent crossion resistance it can be used as the protecting coating of electrode. This method can resist the ion bombardment and discharging of plasma. TiC is proper to be deposited onto the surfaces fo drilled-hole, die and electrode.
