CrN          


The CrN is a kind of silver gray coating. It has great adherence power and good corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance. When the mechnical parts and moulds are PVD coated by CrN, the wearing resistance and lubricity will be improved. Compared with the TiN coating, the corrosion resistance ability of CrN against water solution is more great. The higher surface hardness, lower coefficient of friction and lower residual stress of CrN make it adapt to the occasions which need the above characters.

The CrN coating has very big hardness value:HV1700-2100, good corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance(700℃), great adherence power and can be coated at low temperature(200-400℃). It is very proper to be applied on the moulds, and better than traditional Cr plating in wear resistance. These good characters of CrN will make it replace the Chemical plating of Cr which is a outdated technology in the surface treatment of moulds. It is often applied on the cutting tools used to cut brass products, shape forming moulds, and mechanical parts which need good wear resistance and corrosion resistance.
